The continual advancement of the tribes water utility system; providing the planning and preparation needed to ensure that we meet the future drinking water needs of Rolette County while maintaining the ideals that source water protection is of the highest standards; and protection from a contaminate free environment is the key.

Turtle Mountain Clean Water Project
The Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa (TMBC) wish to achieve several objectives with the Clean Water 106 Grant. The first and foremost is the establishment of a first rate water quality and water pollution program that will protect the TMBC’s primary source of drinking water for the population of the reservation. Also to ensure the TMBC surface waters, which include, but not limited to streams, lakes, and wetlands.
This program also provides resources water quality monitoring. The TMBC will continue to focus on water monitoring activities to help in the development of water quality standards.

Turtle Mountain Tibal Response Program/Brownsfields
The Tribal Response Program (TRP) provides onsite monitoring of Hazardous wastes issues on the Turtle Mountain Indian Resevation.
Along with:
* Inventory of Potential Brownfield sites
* Solid Hazardous Waste Code Development
* Public Record Development and Public Participation
* Cleanup Plan Approvals

General Assistance Program (GAP)
The General Assistance Program (GAP) is the core Environmental Program which provides overall management of the various media specific environmental area’s that include the Clean Water Section 106, Underground Storage Tank, Tribal Response, Clean Air and the Bureau of Reclamation Water Planning Programs. We are responsible for implementing and developing Environmental Codes and Regulations which will provide for a safe and healthy community for tribal members.
